Curated by Christopher “Jillionaire” Leacock of Major Lazer, The Dog is a weeklong popup in Downtown Miami that will bring together a group of friends—comprised of acclaimed musicians and artists—to form a hub for inspired expression across the creative disciplines. The Dog is a bar, dancehall, and art gallery rolled into one; a site-specific and immersive experience that bridges the gap between contemporary art, culture, and music.

In addition to the conceptual collaboration with Tim Biskup, industrial designer Stephen Burks (winner of last year’s Cooper Hewitt National Design Award for Product Design) will create a sprawling, site-specific and immersive installation, Colorfield, that comprises a 1,000 square foot canopy made of hand-woven metallic Mylar ribbon suspended ten feet above the ground from a sophisticated cable apparatus. Colorfield embodies the globally inspired aesthetic present in Burks’ recognized luxury brand collaborations (e.g. Missoni, Harry Winston, Swarovski) and in his institutionally exhibited bodies of work such as that of his solo exhibitions at the Studio Museum in Harlem and the Museum of Arts and Design.

Musical artists include Wild Belle, Brenmar, Protoje, and many more.
